As we have just started another year I thought it would be good to offer a little help to some of the abbreviations the coaches may use on the whiteboards or session plans for swimming.
Here are some (not all) abbreviations.
FC – Front Crawl
NFC – No Front Crawl
OC – Own choice
BS – Breast Stroke
Back – Back Stroke
BF – Butterfly
IM – Individual Medley (Not Iron Man)
On- includes rest ie 200 on 2.10
RI or R – Rest interval ie RI 15 is 15 seconds rest
N/S – negative split, ie do second half faster than first
Progressive – getting faster through the set.
