Hi, just saw today that the running track has been marked in the field at Dawson Park.
🏃♂️ MONDAY REPS - HILLS 🏃🏻♀️ ![]()

Warm-up: ![]()
Run steady pace to your favourite hill (1k warm up run is lovely, but can be less). Best if you find a hill 200-300m long (choose wisely). ![]()

Dynamic Stretching: ![]()
Skipping, high skipping, heels to bum, lunges, standing mountain climbers, a few rotations will only help as well. ![]()

Main Set:![]()
start & finish from the bottom of the hill ![]()
- run 1/2 way up hard effort. Easy recovery run back down. ![]()
- run 3/4 way up the hill hard effort. Recovery run back down. ![]()
- run to the top of the hill hard effort. Recovery run back down. ![]()

Repeat the entire set 4-6 times.![]()

Cool-down:![]()
Steady pace run back to your house or car. ![]()
Remember to stretch your quads, glutes, calfs and hamstrings to avoid injuries. A little seated forward bend when you get home will help with the tightness in your lower back. Add lying figure four pose and your body will feel amazing.![]()

To celebrate the start of April I'm happy to announce we are introducing a new training session weekly at midday on Saturday on Broughty Ferry beach. ![]()

To reduce our carbon footprint this will be a naked swim. But do remember to wear your M3 Big Bobble hat. You wouldn't want to get cold

I hope the longer evenings and improving (!) weather are encouraging you to get back outdoors and enjoy the mental and physical benefits of some training at whatever level feels right for you. Its been great to see such strong support for our Return to 5k Monday night running sessions. We plan to build on these as restrictions are eased.![]()
As we do this can I encourage all of our members to think about Triathlon Scotland Membership. If you are an existing member this will lapse at the end of April, and if you're not a member there are some good reasons to consider joining. I'll explain why!![]()
There are several levels of membership - most members have historically taken up the "Core" option not least for the discounted entry fee to all TS sanctioned races. At the minute there are a limited number of events that offer that opportunity and given all we know about this horrible virus, whilst we can hope, no one knows for sure if they will happen.![]()
So why join? Well......![]()
"Essential" membership means you get a year's public liability insurance, and free legal support if you are the cause (surely not!) or victim (hopefully not) of an accident or incident while racing or training. You'll also get TS updates on what's happening in Scotland and some discounts at insurers and various retailers. It costs about 50p a week.![]()
"Core" membership adds personal accident cover when racing or training which is a massive bonus, your race licence (so no day race licences required throughout the UK), Championship eligibility, and a mystery "membership gift". This all comes in about 80p a week.![]()
Youth and Junior membership are slightly lower priced than the adult memberships at each level, and offer similar benefits - but ask mum and dad first!![]()
Support for your National Body - No TS, no safely sanctioned races, no coaching programme, no youth development program, no PVG/Child protection, no voice at the table with Sport Scotland for Triathlon.![]()
