Sweatshop Running Community
The Sweatshop Running Community was originally set up to encourage people who had never run before to start running, in a safe environment, supported by more experienced runners. The club now supports a wide range of runners from absolute beginners, to sub 50 min 10K runners, with many runners improving all the time.
The Sweatshop team have kindly agreed to letting us join in with their runs, which consist of the following Day, Time & Distances.
– Tuesday 7pm 5km or 8km Mixed Ability
– Wednesday 6pm, 3km Beginners. 6:30, 5km or 8km Mixed Ability
– Sunday 10:30am 3km Mixed Ability
You’ll be asked to sign up before your first run, and Sweatshop will keep track of how many runs you do.
The club supports the local parkrun: a free, weekly, 5k timed run, in Camperdown park. It’s a fantastic course – tough, hilly, multi-surface, and safe. Each week the parkrun team set up the park, and time everyone though course, publishing the results on the web, tracking your performance, and your improvement over time.
Tom Fardon is one of the run directors up at parkrun, so look out for him up there – 09:30 start, every Saturday, starting from the wee car park by the football pitches, along from the East entrance to the park.

New for 2017, a class which will help release & recover your muscles through self-myofascial release of trigger points in the muscles. It is accomplished by rolling the foam roller under each muscle group until a tender area is found, and maintaining pressure on the tender areas (known as trigger points) for 30 to 60 seconds. Bring your favourite foam roller and a tennis/hockey ball, any questions, ask Michelle

Metafit will increase overall body strength, helping to increase performance and prevent injuries!
